Alicia Clarifies Blender Magazine Remarks
Alicia Keys has clarified comments she made to Blender magazine, in which she seemingly suggested that gangsta rap was conspired by the government "to convince black people to kill each other." In a new statement, she says, "Anyone who knows me and my character, knows that I am not a conspiracy theorist or, by implication, a racist." The singer also insists that her "AK-47" nickname is "in no way meant to have a literal, political or negative connotation."
